A 3pt blitz helped the ladies senior 1 to overcome Templeogue in the cup last night. Sarah Cusack and Helena Kenny shared nine 3 pointers between them to help post an impressive 77-44 victory over their southside rivals who had beaten Tridents earlier in the season by 1pt in their first meeting. Despite trafficjams, tummy bugs, colds and flu the girls had a great start to the game with three unanswered 3 pointers and a basket to open up an 11pt lead. At this stage half of the team were still battling their way through the mayhem around Blanchardstown centre. Templeogue rallied in the 2nd quarter to cut the lead to 6pts. But this was as good as it got for the southsiders as Tridents moved up a gear and pulled away again with some fantastic scores and tough defence. The girls now move on to a quarter final game against either Firhouse or Meteors in January. Thanks to Anne and Ron for doing the score and time and a big thanks to all who turned up to support the girls
