On a cold,wet, dark November night our Ladies div 5 team began their cup campaign in st Aiden’s against a Tolka team that had narrowly beat them in their league meeting in October. The girls were determined to avenge that league defeat. Coach Sarah Cusack had her team fired up and captain Brenda Lavelle and vice captain Caroline Latham led the team on the court to a fantastic 45 pts to 29pts victory over Tolka. Every player contributed to this win and coach Sarah had her tactics just right and she saw her team win every quarter with a dominant defensive display.This win takes the girls into a quarter final match in the cup and sees their fantastic season continue.The girls were delighted with the win and the support from our club that was there to cheer them on. Next Wednesday they take on Firhouse in a crunch league tie in St Pats. come along and shout the girls on.Meanwhile our Div 2 ladies team made the trip to Coolock to take on Mercy Div 1. Unfortunately this game this not go ahead due to a mix-up about referee appointment which caused the 2 appointed ref’s being sent to the wrong gym..
